ASPCA Complete Guide to Cats

ASPCA Complete Guide to Cats: Everything You Need to Know About Choosing and Caring for Your Pet

For those of us that has been adopted by a cat (don’t fool yourself on who owns who ;)). It is a gem of a book. It is complete, concise and yet full of information. Well organized and both colorful and picture-full. A plus is that it is durable so it can handle the cat walking all over it.

Why do you need a book about your cat?

Your cat can take of itself, right? You don’t need any info on how to take care of a cat or on various problems. The answer (as all cat-lovers will already know) is, of course, yes I do!
By owning a cat you have a certain level of basic, non-negotiable responsibility for it. So you do require information on things like nutrition and even how to prevent bad behaviors.

What do you get in the book?

The first part of the book discusses how and when to bring a cat home. It discusses things such as cats and kids, preparing your home for the cat and of cause your own readiness. Also goes through such basic things as food, litter box and such. It also gives advice on how to introduce a new cat when you already have one.

Second part is a guide to various breeds and give information on special needs. This I found is big plus especially if you are thinking of getting a cat.

Third part deals with biology and physiological information about cats and the psychological nature of cats.

The fourth and last part deals with, what is most important to me, taking care of your cat. It discusses such things as feeding and everyday care but also health care concerns and how to deal with them.

Why do I recommend it?

All in all, it is a very complete yet fun to read book, which manages to pack a lot of info & beautiful pictures in a tight format. You can get it from Amazon. Buy it here for $24.

Cats and persian kitten quotes

I saw this Quotations For Fans of Our Feline Friends over at “Cat Lover Zone” and there were to quotes I really liked more than the others.

Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.

I really like the vacuum cleaner idea. I think it also depends on what type of vacuum cleaner you have. A big central one might suck a little to much for the little cat.
