How to bath cats: A Step by step guide
October 21, 2008 by Denice
This is a follow up to my earlier post: Cats HATES bathing. At least most of them do.
I forgot to give all instructions in that one. So here it comes.
First there is some things that you have to have ready.
- A rubber mat
- Cat shampoo
- Two towels. One for drying another for holding
- A jug or similar for pouring water
- A bucket with body temperature water. Some cats freaks out if you turn on shower
So that were the tools of the trade. What you need to do for a better bathing experience is:
Always remain calm and don’t raise your voice
And no for the step by step instructions.
- Restrain your cat with a towel
- Pour water over its body and not the head
- Rub in the cat shampoo
- Pour water over the cat with the jug and rub the fur so all shampoo gets out. BE quick.
- Wrap your cat with the dry towel and pat her, don’t rub
- Give the cat a treat and you are done
Good luck and don’t freak out the cat to much. It might take revenge later.
